Rick's Views & Reviews

In this section I hope to be able to share my views, likes, and information about some of my favourite music, dvd's and concerts. I've been an avid music collector for years and really feel that sharing it is important. I love when someone turns me onto a new artist or cd.

The past 6 years or so, I've been collecting concert dvd's. To me, this is one of the best values for your hard earned dollar. You can share the 'live' experience with the best seat in the house and at a fraction of the ticket price. Plus you can pause it and not miss a thing. The fact that the beers cheaper is a bonus as well. Here's just few of my favourites that I'd recommend. I know everyone's musical tastes differ, but this will give you a pretty good idea of mine.

Stray Cats - Rumble in Brixton......stripped down high energy rockabilly. My absolute favourite style of music and these guys do it the best.
Led Zeppelin - We're never gonna see them do a reunion tour and this is the next best thing. My favourite all time band. These 4 musicians changed the face of music.
The Rolling Stones - What else needs to be said? Get the 4 disc set...its worth every penny. You get 3 different concerts...a stadium, an arena, and a club. Tight, but sloppy. Keith steals the show.
Marianne Faithful - In her 60's and highly underrated during most of her career, she's better known as a Stones groupie, but on this live set, she shows poise, style and a voice like a female Joe Cocker. Her songs, band and delivery are amazing.
John Prine - Live at Sessions 54: I LOVE John Prine, anywhere, anytime, ALL the time....He is one of this generations best songwriters, singers and performers. I never get tired of listening to this guy.

Ok...that's a start for now and if you happen the see any of these I'd appreciate your feedback. Also, let me know what you think is amazing...I'd love to have a listen.
